President
President Elect
A paid-up member of the SAKS, who served at least one previous term as EXCO member (not necessarrily immediately prior to nomination) can be nominated and be duly elected as Pesident Elect. He/she will serve as Elected President for one year and automatically become the President thereafter, unless special circumstances prevail. (eg. he/she can not take office due to illness or incapacity)
President
The President will serve in this capacity for a two year term. During his/her first year he/she will be supported by the immediate Past President and during the second year by the President Elect.
Past President
Immediately after a two year service as President the member will become the Past President and serve for one year in this capacity. He/ she will then be replaced by the newly elected President Elect and not be eligible to serve on EXCO for at least one year.
The Executive Committee will consist of:
The President .
The President Elect .
The Past President.
The Secretary/Treasurer.
Two Members without Portfolio, or Portfolio per President's choice.
One co-opted member as a President's prerogative.
Excluding the President, Past President and President Elect, the other members will serve on the EXCO for two years and not more than three consecutive terms (ie not longer than six years consecutively)
Nominations and/or Elections will be done prior to the AGM and the results made known at the AGM, alternatively the nominations and/or elections will be done at the AGM.
The Treasurer will be appointed by the President. He/she shall collect all monies due to the Society, and shall be the custodian of same. The positions of Secretary and Treasurer are usually held by the same person. The Secretary shall give due notice, keep the minutes of all meetings and conduct all correspondence. At the Annual Meeting he/she shall present a report of his receipts and expenditure, which shall be entered on the Minutes. At the beginning of each year he shall acquaint each Member by notice that the annual subscription for the coming year is due.
In the absence of the President, the Past President or President Elect shall preside at the Meetings. In the absence of both the President and the Past President/President Elect the Secretary shall preside.
