Dear SAKS Member

This is the first notice about the SAKS Congress to be held during the South African Orthopaedic Association Congress at Sun City on 5-6 September 2011. The SAOA asked SAKS to host the Instructional Course during the the SAOA Congress. We have also been asked to have the SAKS Congress as a parallel session during the SAOA Congress in order to increase attendance at the SAOA Congress. This will be done on the first two days of the SAOA Congress. We managed to negotiate a decreased fee of R1500 for the Instructional course and SAKS Congress section as opposed to R2500 for Non SAKS members.

The Instructional Course will be about Knee Anatomy and and the diagnoses and emergency treatment of multiple knee ligament injuries. We would like the structure of our Annual Congress to combine a session on Knee Dislocations as well as Multiple Knee Ligament Injuries with a separate section comprised of free papers on research done by members. As a Guest speaker we have Dr. Robert LaPrade from Minnesota coming and we are awaiting confirmation of Dr. Gregory Fanelli`s (of Pennsylania) attendance.

This is the first call on members who would like to participate in the SAKS Congress session on Knee Dislocation and Multiple Knee Ligament Injuries as well as free papers about your own research on any knee topic.
